Honda up for Car of the Year
Dublin People 12 Nov 2011THE Honda CR-Z,
the world’s first hybrid sports car, has been shortlisted for the Continental
Irish Car of the Year title which will be announced in Dublin this week
(November 17).
The CR-Z joins
nine other finalists in the quest for this prestigious title voted by members
of the Irish Motoring Writers Association.
The CR-Z’s
styling is formed around an aerodynamic
“one-motion wedge
? concept with a low
bonnet line and wide stance in an all-new, sporty 2+2 coupé.
Combining an
efficient 1.5litre i-VTEC petrol engine with Honda’s unique IMA parallel hybrid
system, the CR-Z delivers lower emissions of just 117 g/km and excellent fuel
economy of 5.0 l /100km.

Sales and Marketing Director of Universal Honda, commenting on the nomination

listed in the top 10 are: Ford C-Max; Ford Focus; Hyundai i40; Kia Picanto; Kia
Rio; Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe; Mercedes-Benz SLK; Peugeot 508 and Range
Rover Evoque.
