TUH raises 25th anniversary flag

Last Thursday, June 1st, Tallaght University Hospital were delighted to welcome back its first patient Mr. Steve Sinclair.

On June 21st 1998 Mr Sinclair was the first patient to be transferred to TUH from the Meath Hospital, he joined the Lucy Nugent, Chief Executive of TUH and members of the TUH Celebrating 25 Committee last Thursday to raise the official Celebrating 25 years flag at the Hospital.

When the Hospital first opened it employed 1,600 staff with 115 patients moving out from the three base hospitals on June 21st 1998 in a fleet of ambulances with a Garda escort.

The Hospital now employs over 3,500 staff with 63 nationalities represented, the Hospital is one of the largest employers in Tallaght.
