Ireland Fashion Week set to celebrate Irish design

Ireland Fashion Week returns this week, with Irish designers showcasing their collections in castles, galleries and landmark venues across Meath, Dublin and Kilkenny.

Running from today, Wednesday, 7 October to Monday, 12 October, the event brings together established designers, emerging talent and fashion graduates for six days of shows, showcases and conversations. Returning for its second year, the programme spans sportswear, streetwear, contemporary fashion and modern heritage.

Alongside the shows, the week will feature a designer showroom and a programme of panel discussions presented by Visa.

Founded by Ashley McDonnell (pictured above), Ireland Fashion Week creates a platform for Irish designers and the wider creative community, bringing audiences together to discover and celebrate their work.

“We want to give designers a platform to connect with new audiences and bring people closer to their work.

Wednesday, 7 October — Opening Ceremony at Slane Castle

Ireland Fashion Week opens with an evening ceremony and dinner at Slane Castle in Co. Meath, returning for a second year alongside Marks & Spencers to honour the designers and creators at the heart of Ireland’s fashion industry and set the scene for the six-day programme.

Exploring the theme Coming Home: An Island in Motion, Ireland Fashion Week and M&S are connecting Ireland’s global creative impact with a world-class fashion ecosystem on home soil. Together with strategic partners, they are supporting the local creative community to shape the industry’s future.

As M&S marks 100 years in fashion, the evening will recognise the brand’s influence in the Irish market and its role in nurturing some of the country’s most prominent fashion leaders, from Ireland to London and beyond.

The opening ceremony celebrates a shared commitment to creativity and craftsmanship, with culinary direction from Irish chef Mark Moriarty and creative styling by Corina Gaffey.

 

Thursday, 8 October —Irish Roots and Sportswear

Thursday’s programme begins with the Irish Roots Show at St Helens Hotel in Booterstown, Dublin. That evening, the Bold Golf – Sportswear Show takes place at The Exo Building in Dublin’s Docklands.

 

Friday, 9 October —The Irish Edit and Sinéad O’Dwyer 

The Irish Edit Showroom takes place at 1WML on Windmill Lane, Dublin 2.

That evening, Sinéad O’Dwyer (pictured above) presents her show at Dublin City Hall.

 

Saturday, 10 October — Graduates, showcases and streetwear

Saturday opens with the Damhsa Graduate Show at the RDS
Concert Hall, placing emerging talent at the heart of the programme.

The Rashhiiid Showcase follows at the Gerard Byrne Gallery on Trinity Street, before the Brother Wolf – Streetwear Show takes
place that evening at The Douglas Hyde Gallery in Trinity College Dublin.

 

Sunday, 11 October — Contemporary fashion, conversations and MNÁ

Sunday begins with the Sasha Donnellan – Contemporary Show at Dion Rooftop Restaurant, One Central Plaza, on Dame Street.

Throughout the day, Visa Presents – Ireland Fashion Week Talks will bring a programme of panel discussions to Medley, in the Old Irish Times Building in Dublin city centre.

The day concludes with the MNÁ Fashion Show at The Stapleton in Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.

 

Monday, 12 October — Modern heritage at Mount Juliet

The week closes in Co. Kilkenny with the Aoife McNamara (pictured above) – Modern Heritage Show at Mount Juliet Estate, Thomastown.

From graduate collections to established designer shows, Ireland Fashion Week’s 2026 programme offers audiences an opportunity to experience the breadth of Irish fashion and discover the designers and creatives shaping its future.
