48: A true story about the Stardust tragedy

This new, lionhearted and savagely funny play by Dublin playwright Gemma Kane, captures the pulsating youth of 1980s Dublin on the brink of irreparable social change through sharp-tongued narrative and visceral movement, set to the backdrop of a haunting, 80s inspired soundscape by composer Dylan Tonge Jones.

Beethoven 7

The Irish Chamber Orchestra presents their first concert of 2020, ‘Beethoven 7’, with their Principal Conductor/Artistic Partner Jörg Widmann, in the Printworks, Dublin Castle on Friday, February 14. With pieces from Mozart, Strauss, Widmann & Beethoven, this promises to be a fantastic evening of uplifting music, with guest Diego Chenna joining the orchestra on bassoon. Tickets cost around €28. Scene + Heard

Running from February 12-29 at Smock Alley Theatre, this festival showcases the best tasters of never before seen theatre, comedy and music from the north, south, east and west of Ireland. Organisers programme a variety of wild and wonderful performances. The public can then give their honest feedback in a variety of ways – secret ballot, video booth, or tablet tale. You buy a €10 ticket (if booked in advance) to a specific ‘block’ containing two short shows, performed one after the other, lasting about an hour in total. Musical Memories

Life in Still Life

This exhibition is running at the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre until March 23 as part of the annual cross border partnership between the Office of Public Works (OPW) in the Republic of Ireland and the Department of Finance of Northern Ireland. It showcases 54 artworks on the theme of still life selected by the members of The Association of Art and Design Education in Northern Ireland. The visitor centre is open daily from 9.30am-5.15pm.
