Dublin Chinese New Year

The Chinese Year of the Rat is here and the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival will run from Friday, January 24 to Monday, February 10. Highlights include the Spring Festival Fair on Saturday and Sunday, January 24-25 that provides two wonderful free days of music, colour and fun at the iconic Dublin City Fruit and Vegetable Market. Benefit concert

Indie-Classical composer Diarmuid J Kennedy will play a Benefit concert for PSPA Ireland on Thursday, January 23, at 8.30pm in Arthur's Jazz and Blues Club. The showcase concert will feature inspiring piano compositions by the Irish pianist whose music has been compared to Erik Satie and Ludovico Einaudi. Tickets cost €10 and are available on Eventbrite.

Zero Waste Festival

The Science Gallery’s first Zero Waste Festival of 2020 takes place at Trinity College on January 25 and 26. It’s part of the ongoing exhibition on PLASTIC in the Science Gallery. 

The festival will feature some of the best Zero Waste leaders in Ireland giving talks and workshops on how to cut the waste out of your household while keeping those purse strings tight.

The Science Gallery will be open from 12 pm (noon) to 6 pm on both days. 

The Zero Waste market and swap shops will close at 5pm.

Market On The Green

There’s a new monthly market taking place in the bustling area of St Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street starting off on Sunday, January 26 from 12 till 5pm. Market on The Green is based in the original location of the Dandelion market and is set to become Dublin's biggest city centre market with over 50 traders, a cafe, bar and Dublin Pizza Company.

TradFest

TradFest Temple Bar has gained a reputation as the one of the biggest and best traditional Irish music and culture festivals in Ireland. The festival takes place over five days from January 22-26 with over 200 events featuring artists such as Afro Celt Sound System, Aoife Scott, Hothouse Flowers and many more. Silk Road International Film Festival

The Silk Road International Film Festival (SRIFF) is held annually in Dublin to celebrate world cinema and discover new films and voices from around the world.

AXA Raheny 5

All roads lead to Raheny this weekend for the 2020 AXA Raheny 5, which takes place on Sunday, January 26 at 3pm, 

The event, promoted by Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club, features Irish top distance athletes as well as amateur runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities. 

Race day caters for the entire community with four kids’ races taking place before the main event and it’s a fantastic spectacle for those not taking part.

Holiday World Show
