Wyvern Lingo release new EP ahead of major show in the Button Factory
Dublin People 04 Mar 2016
FRESH from the success of their ‘Subside’ single and a sold out Whelans gig, Bray trio Wyvern Lingo have set the tone for 2016 with the release of their new ‘Letter To Willow’ EP ahead of their biggest Dublin show to date, at The Button Factory on Friday, April 1.

Three of the tracks were recorded in Cologne, Germany with Sierra-Leonean/ German artist-producer Patrice Bart-Williams, and were mixed in Paris by Philippe Weiss (Dragonette, George Clinton, K’naan). Additional recording for the title track took place in Dublin with Rob Kirwan (Hozier, PJ Harvey) at the controls.
Friends and bandmates since school days, Wyvern Lingo share a gift for close harmony, keen songcraft and an effervescent live performance which belies their tender years. Drawing on a diverse range of influences from pop to rock and R’n’B, their voices interweave to create a fresh, forward-looking sound.
The trio are currently on tour in the UK as special guests of Co Wicklow comrade Hozier on his sold-out string of dates, which include three nights at Brixton Academy.
Karen Cowley on vocals, keyboards, bass synth; Caoimhe Barry on vocals, drums and Saoirse Duane on vocals and guitar released their ‘LLetter To Willow’ EP last Friday.
• Tickets for the Button Factory gig are €16.
