Roberta Kudreviciene won the Poker Run’s top prize.

A FUNDRAISING event with a difference was held recently on the Northside to raise funds for a local boy and Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI).

Naglis Montvilas (13), from Balrothery, has spinal muscular atrophy. He is a member of MDI, the national charity that provides information and support to people affected by muscle-wasting conditions.

The event on June 21 was a Motorcycle Poker Run. Participants drove to five mystery points where they were each dealt a card for their poker hand. After the final stop at the Man O’War bar and restaurant in north county Dublin, the best hand of cards won a top prize of a

?¬200 voucher from Kennedy’s motorcycles. The lucky winner on the day was Roberta Kudreviciene.

Just under

?¬1,800 was raised from the event, which will be used to support Naglis’s care and MDI’s respite services and research programmes.
