Dubs do deal with NAC
Dublin People 06 Jun 2014
THE Dubs will be teaming up with the National Aquatic Centre (NAC) again this year to help the boys in blue prepare for a crack at retaining their All-Ireland crown.
The senior football team first officially partnered with the NAC in Dublin 15 for the 2013 championship and last week it was confirmed that the deal will continue this year.
Under the deal, the Dublin senior footballers have access to all the waters of the Dublin 15 centre, including Ireland’s international 50 metre competition pool, reserved 25 metre pools for recovery work and individual and group access to ToneZone Gym and AquaZone Water Park.
The NAC will also give access to its other venues on the National Sports Campus for any training requirements of the Dublin team, including Morton Stadium in Santry.
NAC say the partnership is intended to be a long term deal with the Dubs team and it covers all senior matches including the O’Byrne Cup, the National League and the Championship.
This year there’ll be a similar arrangement with the Dublin under 21 footballers who went on to win the Leinster and All-Ireland titles in 2014.
CEO of the NAC, David Conway, said they were delighted to welcome back the Dubs panel to the centre.
“We’ve worked closely with them since January and we look forward to playing a part in their preparations for their Championship defence for the summer ahead,
? he said.
“We were delighted to help Jim and his team lift their second National League title in a row. Again this shows the excellent world class facility and service we offer at the Centre and on the Campus.

Dubs manager, Jim Gavin, said the lads were looking forward to growing the successful partnership with the NAC team.
“The NAC is a worldwide recognised state-of-the-art sports facility that will enhance our preparation and also assist in our post match and injury recovery programmes,
? he said.
“Used correctly, aquatic therapy is a marvellous tool in a non-weight-bearing environment as part an active recovery strategy, and our coaching staff will find excellent facilities here at the NAC.
