THE Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company has unveiled its busy summer activity programme.

Cruise calls, sporting events, as well as family-fun activities will commence in early June and run until the end of the summer.
The Harbour Company is also increasing the range of stalls offering tasty treats such as ice cream, frozen yogurt and fruit.
Key dates in the summer programme will take in water sports including the Cruiser Championship from June 13 to 15 and the European Optimist Championships from July 11 to 20.
There will also be further cruise visits following the arrival of the first cruise of the season in April.
There will be three more cruise calls this summer including the Wind Surf on July 12 and again on September 4 while the luxury Seaborne Legend will be dropping by on August 31.
Among the sporting competitions will be the annual
‘Harbour Swim’ on August 10 and the return of the very popular Rainbow Run on June 22.
A fun fair will return to the Carlisle Pier in late June, and the kiddies’ Pirates Cove miniature electric train service that operates up and down the East Pier will also run throughout the summer months.
And to keep hunger pangs at bay while down on the pier there will be some great options for food and treats.
The famous Teddy’s Ice Cream will be available at the start and end of the pier while Mooch Frozen Yogurt is available beside the bandstand.
Meanwhile, Ouzo’s Fish Shack will be cooking up beautiful seafood that you can enjoy before or after your stroll on the pier.
Speaking at the launch of the programme, JP Montgomery of the Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company said:
“The harbour is a wonderful amenity and our summer programme is designed to encourage more people to use it.
“Increased activity at the harbour, whether through cruise calls, or simply by having greater numbers coming to walk the pier, can have significant economic benefits for the wider town.
