COP THAT: the depiction of gardai in the latest season of Love/Hate has been a source of controversy.

It seems that we can’t get enough of gritty Irish underworld crime drama Love/Hate. We asked our Facebook friends if Series 4 has lived up to their expectations so far. Here’s an edited selection of some of the comments we received.

Dave Coughlan: Giving it one more week and then good luck to ye Nidge.

Laura Woodings: Good this week. First few weeks disappointing, though.

Louise Reid McHugh: Love it

Lois Geraghty: Not as good as previous years – sorry guys. Hopefully it picks up but they shouldn’t have killed off Darren.

Bernie Lynam Gunning: Am I the only person who hates this?

Vikki Banahan: I hope it gets better as it’s not as good as the last three seasons.

Barbara Ellis: Love it

Tara Murphy: Raging that Tommy is brain damaged. It’s kinda ruined it. Still, can’t wait for Sunday nights, though. Brilliant.

Patrick Vaughan: Fran is star of the show. Loving it. Really getting going now.

Carol Todd Barry: Absolutely, it has lived up to and exceeded my expectations.

Nicola McCabe: Yeah, it’s really building up into something. Need to watch that Fran fella.

Stacey Hogg: Yes, it’s starting to kick off now. Poor, poor Tommy.

Kim Moran: I’m loving it

Rachel Lattimore: Coola boola

Jackie Doyle: It’s the best thing on telly these days – love it.

Rónán Merrick: Fran’s the best character in it.

Laura Byrne: No, it’s very boring at the moment.

Linda Keogh Moore: No, quite disappointed in it to be honest. Think it has lost its way.

Laura Ivers: The best! They’re all playing a blinder, to be fair. But I think this is the series where it all catches up with them in the end. Question is: death or prison?
