Eimear’s recipe proves to be a hot favourite

A SOUTHSIDE woman has had one of her favourite family dishes included in the recently launched Flora Cookbook.

Eimear Kelleher was one of 10 lucky winners to have their recipes featured in the book that has already made its way into thousands of homes after it was distributed with a national newspaper in late July.

Eimear’s recipe for

‘Turkey Burgers’ beat some stiff competition to be chosen by Masterchef’s Nicha Maguire for the

‘Recipes for the Heart You Love’ Flora Cookbook.

As part of the celebrations marking their 10th year as sponsor of the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon, Flora teamed up with Masterchef Maguire to invite participants to share their favourite family recipes for inclusion in a cook book.

As well as the winning entrants it also contains recipes from Chef Maguire, who re-worked two of her own favourite family recipes to make them even more nutritious.

Along with Flora dietician Harriette Lynch, Chef Maguire introduced small changes to the winners’ recipes to make them even more nutritious by replacing salt with herbs, adding more vegetables and using healthier fats.

Nicha Maguire said she was delighted to see the Flora Cookbook in print.

“We have put a lot of hard work and passion into creating this book and it is so nice to see all our hard work pay off,

? she said.

“I hope mums and dads all over the country see these recipes and get some healthy meal time inspiration.

“It’s fantastic to mark our tenth year as sponsor of the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon with a celebration of the participant’s much-loved recipes.

“The health conscious recipes are great for the whole family and most importantly, very tasty too.

The 10k Flora Women’s Mini Marathon is the biggest all-women’s event of its kind in the world, attracting over 40,000 participants each year.

Over the years, the event has been won by acclaimed athletes such as Sonia O’Sullivan and Catherina McKiernan.

Charities from every county in Ireland are the biggest winners from the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon. Since the event began, over e163 million has been raised for Irish charities, making it the biggest single day charity event in Ireland.
