Local band set for a Rattling bright future
Dublin People 13 Jul 2013
AN emerging Northside band has been working hard over the last couple of months ahead of the release of their debut EP.

On Saturday August 3,
‘The Rattling Kind’ will officially launch the EP
‘Rise Up’, taking their unique style of indie folk rock and powerful songs to the stage of the Grand Social, Lower Liffey Street, Dublin. Doors open 7.30pm. Tickets for the show are only e8 with a copy of the EP thrown into the bargain!
Having toured the Dublin pub scene for over a year, lead singer and rhythm guitarist Eddie Sherlock, from Coolock, had gained quite a following for his rousing renditions of many classic Irish ballad songs.
However, Eddie wanted more. While sitting down with his friend Thomas Forde, from Donycarney, the band’s bass player, they began writing their own music and penning their own songs. It was at this juncture that the decision was taken to form a band.
Multi-talented Ben McGinn joined next, taking on the role of lead guitarist. Drummer Anthony White, from Coolock, former member of the prestigious Artane Boys’ Band and a childhood friend of lead singer Eddie, completed the line up.
In the past year the band have recorded with NEAR FM for their compilation CD,
‘Near Musical Express’, launching the new label Near Records. Last June, in association with MCD, the band headlined a sold-out gig in Academy 2.
Hardworking, energetic and honest, the lads from
‘The Rattling Kind’ welcome one and all to the launch of
‘Rise Up’, which will also be available on iTunes from August 3.
The band can also be found on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud and Breaking Tunes.
