Flipping amazing!

THIS extraordinary picture of a dolphin at play in Killiney Bay were captured by photographer Mark Kavanagh last week.

Mark’s patience in waiting to get a photo of this particular dolphin finally paid off after a wait of nearly six months for the perfect shot.

“I’d been down there on the beach on and off over the last six months hoping to get a picture of this school of dolphins but it was only last week after a wait of a couple of hours that I finally got it,

? he recalled.

“My daughter Rebecca spotted their dorsal fins in the water so I knew they were around and I was determined that I’d finally nail it.

“Finally, the male I believe, leapt into the air as this kayaker came over to check them out. It was an awesome display of a particularly beautiful and powerful animal.

Mark, a photographer who usually takes snaps at fast moving motorbike races, was delighted that he was able to capture their antics on film after having seen the family frolic in the waters of the bay on several previous occasions.

“I took those shots from a fair distance away so I was thrilled with the result,

? he added.
