Investigation under way after man dies in tent in city centre

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in a tent in the city centre earlier this morning.

The man was found at Loftus Lane, between Bolton Street and Parnell Street, at around 3am.

He was treated at the scene but was later pronounced dead.

The scene remains preserved this morning.

Gardaí say a post-mortem examination will be carried out, the results of which will determine the course of their investigation.
