Revenue officers seize €72,000 worth of cannabis in Kilmore search

Revenue officers seized thousands of euro worth of cannabis yesterday in a search of a northside premises.

In a statement made by a spokesperson, Revenue said: “As part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 3.6kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €72,000 following the search, under warrant, of a premises in the Kilmore area of Dublin.

“The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Divisional Drugs Unit.

“A 37 year old woman was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ballymun Garda Station.

“Investigations are ongoing.

“This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
