Man charged in relation to alleged sexual incident in Coolock

Following consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions, Gardaí in Coolock have charged a male (aged in his 20s) in relation to an alleged assault incident that took place in Coolock on Wednesday 3rd February 2021.

Shortly after 11pm on Wednesday 3rd February Gardaí were alerted when a woman in her 20s reported being assaulted by a lone male while out running on Adare Road, Coolock.

An investigation commenced and on Wednesday 10th February 2021, a man in his mid-20s was arrested by Gardaí and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Coolock Station.

The man has since been charged and is expected to appear before Dublin District Court (Criminal Courts of Justice No 4.) today, 11th February 2021.
