Fingal TD calls out Healy Rae brothers for being “pretend” working class

Fingal Labour TD Duncan Smith launched a scathing attack on the Healy Rae brothers in the Dail earlier today.

It came after Michael and Danny Healy Rae accused Labour of trying to make themselves “relevant” with their plan called NASS, the National Aggressive Suppression Strategy.

The war of words took place during a debate as part of a Private Members’ Motion being tabled by the Labour party which is calling for a “national aggressive Covid-19 suppression strategy.”

Michael Healy-Rae said pursuing a Zero-covid approach would destroy businesses as he said the Labour party “don’t understand work and don’t understand business”.

“They don’t have a clue, all they’re trying to do here today is making themselves relevant in a debate,” Deputy Healy Rae said.

Deputy Smith said that the Healy Raes put on a “caricature” and they “pretend” they’re working class.

“I was hanging doors and filling skips to make ends meet while others were driving their Mercedes cars into their plant hire businesses to count their money,” Deputy Smith said.

“I don’t have to put on a political costume and a caricature to pretend I’m working class like some.”
