Revenue seize contraband worth over €240,000 in Dublin

Revenue officers who examined parcels at a premises in Dublin seized approximately 10.2 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €204,400, during the course of numerous operations. Various quantities of other illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €3,400, were also seized.

The illicit drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Sam, in parcels that originated in the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.

Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of approximately €32,500, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.

The various quantities of other illicit drugs seized (worth approximately €3,400) comprised: 33.5g of butane honey oil, 13mls of cannabis oil, 62.6g of cannabis resin, 227g of cannabis edibles, 58.3g of magic mushrooms, and 669 Diazepam, Ephedrine, Zolpidem and Zopiclone tablets.

The retail goods (worth approximately €32,500) comprised: 356 x items of Adidas, Birkenstock, Canada Goose, Celine, Christian Dior, Diesel, Golden Goose, Gucci, Hermes, Hugo Boss, Longchamp, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, New Balance, Nike, ON Cloud, Palm Angels, Prada, Rayban, Rolex, the North Face, and Tommy Hilfiger
