New enterprise hub available to all businesses in South Dublin

Dublin People 16 Aug 2024

A new one-stop-shop for business queries on supports and grants is now available and will be a fantastic new tool for businesses of all sizes in Dublin, according to a Fine Gael Minister.

Local TD and Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail Emer Higgins said: “The National Enterprise Hub aims to gather over 180 government supports from 19 different departments and agencies into one single source for the first time and will make it much easier for businesses in Dublin to search and access resources in terms of grants and practical supports from government. Launched just last month, it already has 25,000 active users, with 90% of businesses interacting with a government agency for the first time”.

“This is a new all of government service, staffed by expert advisers who are available to take questions over the phone, by email or via a new chat service.  We know that business owners in Dublin are busy, and often don’t have the capacity to trawl through various searches and literature to find information on measures they could be accessing. The National Enterprise Hub will make life a lot easier for our SMEs.

“Businesses were asked what would be useful to them, and above-all they responded to say they value being able to talk to a real person at the end of the phone, who can respond quickly to questions and advise them on various grants and measures that could assist their business”.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Fine Gael’s Peter Burke has said he is prioritising support for our SME sector ahead of Budget 2025, and the National Enterprise Hub us a further measure which will aid SMEs:

“Our SME sector is the backbone of our economy. Small and medium-sized enterprises employ almost 70% of the people in this country, and government needs to acknowledge this and respond with assistance.  Since May of this year, we have paid out almost €200 million in the Increased Cost of Business Grant to tens of thousands of small businesses around the country, and Fine Gael will continue to back our businesses in the upcoming budget, as the pro-enterprise party”.

Minister Higgins is urging all businesses to log on to see what supports may be available:

“From energy efficiency grants to cash flow, and whether you are a new business or scaling up, the National Enterprise Hub is available to you.

“I really encourage business owners to access neh.gov.ie or call 01 727 2100 to ensure they are availing of all the supports and grants they may be entitled to.”

The National Enterprise Hub is funded by the Government of Ireland, and managed by Enterprise Ireland, the government agency responsible for the development and growth of Irish businesses.2
