Live music and giving back – two incredible experiences that will go hand-in-hand this summer, thanks to a new collaboration between Metallica and the Irish and Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Services.
Metallica and its foundation, All Within My Hands (AWMH), urge fans to give blood at select tour stops across Europe to help ensure hospital patients never have to wait for critical, lifesaving care.
Metallica and its foundation, All Within My Hands, take advantage of opportunities on the road to contribute to each community the tour visits.
The world-famous band is encouraging fans in Ireland, North and South to help keep hospitals stocked across the country, by giving blood the week of Metallica’s concert tour stop in Dublin on the 19 th and 21 st of June.
By rolling up a sleeve to give blood, the Metallica Family can help trauma victims, those facing cancer, new mothers, people living with blood disorders, and so many more.
“It’s a fantastic and unique way for us to get the message to people about how important it is to give blood. Summer can be a challenging time to meet the increasing blood needs of hospitals, and we hope this collaboration with Metallica fans increases everybody’s blood flows” said Sharon Ryan, Director of Donor Experience and Collections with the IBTS.
Donors of all blood types are needed now.
The Irish and Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Services are inviting fans and the general public to make an appointment to donate blood during the weeks in and around Metallica’s concerts in June.
Donating blood is easy, taking approximately an hour and a half for your first donation, and each donation has the potential to save up to three lives. Visit giveblood.ie/Metallica to check eligibility, find a clinic and book your appointment.
