Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is presenting 50 Years of Irish Rock Through the Lens of Dutch Photographers at dlr LexIcon, a major new exhibition celebrating five decades of iconic music photography and the enduring cultural connections between Ireland and the Netherlands.
Featuring images of some of Ireland’s most influential artists, this vibrant exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the story of Irish rock through an international lens.
Curated by Ramon Music Exhibitions, this exciting exhibition brings together unforgettable images of Irish music legends including U2, Sinéad O’Connor, Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison, Bob Geldof and Hozier, captured by renowned Dutch photographers over five decades.

The exhibition shines a spotlight on the vibrant cultural connections between Ireland and the Netherlands and arrives at a particularly fitting moment as Ireland prepares to take on the EU Presidency in July.
Alongside world-famous names, visitors can also discover Irish and local talent, making this a rich and rewarding experience for music lovers.
Speaking at the launch, Cllr Jim Gildea, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said:
“We are delighted to welcome this wonderful exhibition to dlr LexIcon and to share it with our community.
“It is a vibrant celebration of Irish music, creativity and cultural connection, and I would warmly encourage people of all ages to come along, explore the photographs and enjoy this unique experience in one of our welcoming public library spaces.”

Ramon Muntjewerff of Ramon Music Exhibitions added:
“50 years of Irish rock through the lens of Dutch photographers explores the unique musical connection between Ireland and the Netherlands.
“Many Irish artists started their careers in the Netherlands, where their journeys were captured by 6 renowned Dutch photographers over the last 50 years.
“This exhibition tells the story of Irish rock through both the artists and the photographers who documented them – a visual soundtrack of Irish rock over the decades.”
The exhibition is free and runs at dlr LexIcon Library, Dún Laoghaire until 2 July.
