Live music concerts to be held in various venues across south Dublin this June

Several live music performances will be taking place in various venues across south Dublin this June.

Supported by the South Dublin Arts Office and the Department of Culture through the Live Local Performance Scheme, traditional music, folk, country, and jazz are just some of the genres on offer this month.

Orla Scannell, Arts Officer for the council said: “We’ve had a great response to events in May and are delighted to continue to support live performance across South Dublin.

“There’s lots for music aficionados, with established and niche acts. it’s an eclectic mix with something for everyone.”

Soprano Elizabeth Hilliard kicks off June’s events at Rathfarnham Parish Church on Saturday 4th performing works by Debussy, Poulenc, and Ravel at 1.15pm.

The Summer Music Trail continues their live lunchtime folk concerts at North Clondalkin Library on Friday 10th and at Tallaght Library on Friday 17th at 10am and 11am on both dates.

The ethereal sounds of Celtic Passage Music will regale patients and frontline workers at Tallaght Hospital Chapel on Friday 17th at 1pm and again at 3pm.

The concerts are free with suggested donations of €10 to support Ukraine.

Áras Chrónáin has a swathe of genres on offer kicking off with SubSounds Youth Music showcasing emerging local musicians Amy Naessens and Ciara Dalton on Friday 10th at 8pm.

Whistle bring their Americana, Bluegrass, and Country music on Saturday 11th at 7.30pm along with special guests Shared Spirit.

Blues and R&B will feature Friday 17th with The Donal Kirk Band onstage at 6.30pm followed by singer songwriters Troubadour at 8.30pm.

Meanwhile The Full Shillin’ will continue bringing joy to invited audiences at Lisheen Nursing Home, Rathcoole, Sally Park Nursing Home, Knocklyon, and Lucan Lodge in a series of gigs across June.

Rathfarnham Castle Grounds will be buzzing with Opera, Jazz, and World Music on Sunday 5th from 2-5pm, and traditional music will be the focus on Monday 6th from 2-5pm.

Noise Music Presents a mix of Hip-Hop, House and Techno at 7pm in Rua Red on Thursday 9th featuring artists Ais, Muttonhead, Julia Louise Knifefist, Baliboc, Pius, Celaviedmai and Smiley Emmanuel.

The Revival of Live Festival at Griffeen Park, Lucan runs from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th.

The Ruaille Buaille Children’s Music Festival will take place daily from 10am with live music and workshops.

From 7.30 pm, grown-up musos will be treated to a plethora of artists from Paul Kelly, Claire Sherry, Martin Tourish, Mick McNamara, Ciara-Lee Jenkinson, Ian Drew, Mary Byrne, Simon Morgan, Caitríona Sherlock, Oleg Ponomarev, Lou Van Laake, Jay Rankin, Richie Buckley, Gavin Barr, Siobhan Buckley, Brian Fleming, James Mahon, Esosa Ighodaro, Vincent Lynch to name but a few.
