Arrest after aggravated burglary in Rathgar

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 40s in relation to an aggravated burglary that took place at a business premises on the Rathgar road, Dublin 6 on Monday (October 19) at approximately 10.30pm.

The owner of the premises was alerted to the incident when the suspected offender smashed a window to gain access. The man was then observed opening the till and taking a sum a cash before fleeing the scene on foot.

Gardaí apprehended the male a short time later and recovered the stolen cash. He was arrested and taken to Rathmines Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
