Dubs take top two places in Frank Duffy 10 Mile

Dubliner David Glynn was the surprise winner of the Frank Duffy 10 Mile men’s race in 52:39 and he shared his joy following the race: “I am absolutely delighted with the win,” he said.

“I can’t believe it. I felt good at the start, and I just pushed it and the gap opened-up.”

The Swords local plans to race in both up and coming the Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon and Marathon.

Mick Clohisey (Raheny Shamrock AC) was back in action after a battle with injuries to claim second place in 53:00, getting the better of Dunboyne AC’s Peter Somba who crossed the line 30 seconds later.

It was the second win of the 2023 Irish Life Dublin Race Series for Caityln Harvey (24), improving on her second place in last year’s Frank Duffy 10 Mile with a winning time of in 1:00:24.

The Roadrunner AC athlete is planning on making her marathon debut in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon this year.

Speaking after the race Harvey said: “It was a tough going, in the wind, I was just trying to race who was around me and in the last 400m I just kicked”.

They were joined by thousands of runners took on the course in windy conditions in the Phoenix Park.

The next race is the series is the Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon (23rd of September) which is sold-out, along with the Irish Life Dublin Marathon (29th of October).
