DLR celebrate Kilmacud Crokes
Padraig Conlon 27 Mar 2023Following Kilmacud Crokes’ win in the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship earlier this year, Councillor Mary Hanafin, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council held a civic reception to mark this notable achievement for the local Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown club.
The reception, which was held last Thursday evening, was attended by Frank Curran, Chief Executive DLRCC, local Councillors, players, management, family, and supporters of the Senior Football Team.
Speaking at the event, Councillor Mary Hanafin, Cathaoirleach of DLR said:
“I congratulate the players from the Senior Football Team and all 6,000 members of Kilmacud Crokes on their win. Kilmacud Crokes are more than a football team or GAA club; they are a large part of the Stillorgan and wider Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown community. The involvement shown by Kilmacud Crokes through all aspects of their club, in sport, choir, or charity cycling, proves that community engagement and support leads to success.”
Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said:
“Kilmacud Crokes Senior Football team have excelled this past season and I am delighted to see them recognized following their win in the All-Ireland Final earlier this year. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council always seeks to encourage active and engaged communities and Kilmacud Crokes as a club represent a large support in those efforts.”

“It was truly a great honour for the team and the club to be recognised with this civic reception. We very much appreciate the effort from all in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in organising the evening and the ongoing support we get as a club from the Council.”
