Padraig Conlon 07 Sep 2026

Green Party Councillor for Dundrum, Rob Jones, has stepped down from his position.

In a statement release today, he said:

“After careful consideration, I have concluded that stepping down is the best decision for myself and the community.

My professional commitments outside the Council have grown to the point where I can no longer serve with the level of dedication that the role demands.

I particularly want to thank the many people in Dundrum who placed their trust in me as their local councillor.

I remain committed to the Green Party and to the principles we stand for.

“I look forward to continuing to be a dedicated member of the party.”

Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman thanked the outgoing councillor.

“I would like to thank Rob for the hard work and knowledge he brought to the Party as Spokesperson for Enterprise and  for his dedication to his constituents as a councillor, and look forward to continuing to work with him as a party member”, he said.

A new councillor will be co-opted to the position shortly.
