Padraig Conlon 06 Jan 2025The HSE will be running free nasal spray vaccine clinics in Clonskeagh, Dublin 6 for children aged between 2 and 17 years old on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th January.
The walk-in clinics are taking place in Clonskeagh Hospital Campus (D06 V406) from 10.30am – 1.30pm on Wednesday 9th January and 2.30pm – 5.00pm on Thursday 9th January.
A further clinic in Ballinteer Primary Care Centre (D16 Yx93) will take place on Monday 13th January from 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please bring the child’s PPSN with you to the clinic.
Healthcare Workers who have not already received their winter vaccinations can also avail of the COVID-19 and/or Flu vaccines at these clinics.
Flu is a serious illness that can be dangerous in children, with studies showing that children are twice as likely as adults to catch and spread flu easily.
Young children are also more likely than adults to be very sick from flu.
Vaccinating children protects them – and their siblings, parents, grandparents and those who are vulnerable.
The Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine (LAIV) is administered to children aged 2-17 years by way of a safe, quick and painless spray in each nostril.
Children can breathe normally and many report that it “tickles” when being given.
The children’s nasal flu vaccine is also available from participating pharmacies.
Details of Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for adults can be found here.
