More buses on C1 route secured, says Higgins
Padraig Conlon 26 Sep 2024Following ongoing discussions with the National Transport Authority (NTA), Minister and local TD Emer Higgins says she is pleased to welcome the addition of four extra buses on the busy C1 route, starting this week.
This will ease congestion and improve service for commuters traveling between Lucan/Adamstown and the city.
“I’m delighted to see these new buses roll out this week. I know it will provide immediate relief for the many residents who rely on the C1 route,” said Higgins.
“I’ve been working really closely with the NTA to secure these services, and I will continue to advocate for further improvements, including additional C2 buses and increased services on Saturdays, particularly when large events take place in the city centre.”
“The two additional morning buses now depart from Adamstown at 7:25 am and 7:33 am, supplementing the existing eight buses operating between 7:00 am and 8:00 am.
“This new service will help alleviate overcrowding during peak hours, providing more options for commuters”.
“In addition, two afternoon services have been introduced, departing from Sandymount at 2:15 pm and 4:55 pm.
“These buses will stop at Pearse Station at approximately 2:35 pm and 5:10 pm, arriving in Adamstown at approximately 3:45 pm and 6:20 pm, respectively.”
The NTA says it is committed to reviewing the C2 route next, and more details will be provided once buses and drivers are secured.
