Leinster House will open its doors to the public for Culture Night 2024

Dublin People 18 Sep 2024

As part of the Houses of the Oireachtas commitment to public engagement, visitors will be given exceptional access to Leinster House, Ireland’s Parliament building, from 5.00pm to 9.30pm on Friday, 20 September, for Culture Night 2024.

Musical entertainment will be provided on the night by members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, Rathfarnham Ukulele Group, St Damian’s National School Choir, Insieme Acapella Choir, Cór Linn Youth Choir and the Discovery Gospel Choir

Irish Sign Language (ISL) and Irish language tours alongside English language guided tours will be provided on the night, which will give visitors the chance to see the historic Dáil and Seanad chambers. As they walk through the corridors of Leinster House, visitors will also be able to view the historic art on display throughout the complex.

Leinster House is one of Ireland’s most culturally and socially significant buildings and opening the doors of the Parliament facilitates a crucial connection between the public and their parliamentary system and encourages a deeper understanding of the democratic process.

As such, the Houses of the Oireachtas Service is delighted to take part in Culture Night for the nineteenth year and has made approximately 800 tickets available to the public for the event.

While the tours are free, please note that this is a ticketed event, and tickets are now fully booked.

Culture Night is an annual, nationwide event in which arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased access to the public.
