Gardaí appealing for witnesses after a serious collision between a lorry and a bicycle on Whitebank Road

Gardaí investigating a serious road traffic collision involving a lorry and a bicycle that occurred at approximately 4pm on Wednesday, November 9 on the South Bank Road at the junction with the Whitebank Road in Dublin 4, are appealing for witnesses.

A Garda spokesperson said in a statement that “the male cyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is currently in a critical condition. No other injuries to persons was reported.

“The scene was preserved and an examination was conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.”

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the South Bank Road or the Whitebank Road between 3:30pm and 4pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
