One man arrested in connection with shooting in Clondalkin on Friday evening

Gardaí investigating the shooting incident in Cherrywood Grove, Clondalkin on the evening of Friday, 8th April 2022 have arrested one man.

A Garda spokesperson says that “the man, aged in his 30s, was arrested this afternoon Monday, 11th April 2022.

“He is currently detained in Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

It is understood the shooting took place at around 5pm on Friday evening and one man in his 20s was shot in the face.

The man was taken to Tallaght hospital for his injuries which not believed to be life threatening.

The scene of the shooting was preserved and a technical examination was undertaken by investigating officers.
