Gardaí arrest one and seize loaded firearm following firearm discharge in Tallaght

Gardaí have seized a loaded firearm and arrested one man following a search operation that took place following a firearms incident that occurred on Saturday night, 30th October, 2021 at Brookfield Road, Tallaght.

A firearm was discharged at a residential property in Tallaght at approximately 10.30 p.m.

No persons were injured during the incident and as a result of investigations two search warrants were obtained pursuant to Section 29 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 to search two properties in Tallaght.

The search operation took place yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 3rd November, 2021 and during the course of the search a loaded shot gun was seized.

One man (aged 20 years) was arrested at the scene under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939 and is currently detained at Tallaght Garda station.
