Gardai investigate failed armed robbery attempt in Tallaght yesterday

Gardai are investigating an incident where a man armed with a firearm threatened staff and demanded cash during a failed robbery attempt in Tallaght yesterday.

It is understood that the man entered a Circle K petrol station just before 4pm in an attempted theft.
However, no cash handed over and he left the scene and no one was injured in the incident.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating an attempted robbery at a service station in the Balrothery area of Tallaght that occurred today at approximately 3:50pm.
“It is reported that a lone male entered the premises armed with an apparent firearm and demanded cash. No cash was handed over and the man left the scene. No injuries occurred.
“Investigations are continuing.”
