New Covid test centre opens in South Dublin today

A new Covid-19 testing centre is opening in South Dublin today. 

Tropical Medical Bureau and Plusvital will offer same-day results of PCR tests for €120 at Leopardstown Racecourse.

There will also be a drive-through testing facility on-site, and a travel certificate will be provided.

Over 150 people have already booked appointments ahead of the opening today.

Local TD Neale Richmond welcomed the opening of the new local testing centre.

“Within 24 hours you’ll have your test done there in the bay in Leopardstown Racecourse by a registered general nurse,” he said.

“It’s then sent down to the lab which is only on Pottery Road and you’ll have a text message before you know it, to again give that peace of mind particularly with a lot of people maybe going home for Christmas.

“However it is, of course, no substitute for good hand hygiene, social distancing and mask-wearing.”
