One person dead after road accident on Dublin road

One person has died and another has been seriously injured in a road incident on the N7.

Two cars were involved in a head-on collision at around 12.30am on a stretch of road near the Green Isle Hotel.

Gardaí say that a Garda patrol car had an “interaction” with one of the cars prior to the crash, and that the incident has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC).

A section of the road remains closed for a forensic collision investigation.
