Three Dublin based higher education campuses are set to get brand new laboratories, workshops and studios.

This follows an announcement by Minister Simon Harris today confirming details of a programme to deliver 11 new higher education buildings nationwide which will facilitate an extra 8,000 additional student enrolments.
In Dublin, the projects are located in the TU Dublin Tallaght, Blanchardstown and Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology (IADT) campuses.
The tender for the first bundle under this Public Private Partnership (PPP) Programme will proceed to tender immediately and will include six projects in the eastern and southern regions and in the midlands.
Fine Gael Dún Laoghaire TD Jennifer Carroll MacNeill has welcomed the announcement which confirmed funding for a new Digital Media Building in Dún Laoghaire’s Institute of Art, Design & Technology (IADT).
The new Digital Media Building will house animation and visual design communications labs, with capacity also for growth in courses in creative computing, entrepreneurship and creative technologies.
The extension will span 7,300 square metres and will be included in the first project bundle.
“I am absolutely delighted to see IADT included in today’s announcement from Minister Harris,” Deputy Carroll MacNeill said.
“IADT is an incredibly important national educational institution.
“It is also a valued cultural institution within Dún Laoghaire and contributes to the social, economic and cultural life of the area.
“This investment will create additional spaces for IADT students, and enhance the Institute’s capacity for innovation and creativity.
“I am looking forward to following the development of the new building as it progresses.”
The projects are being delivered under Project Ireland 2040.
