Sandymount Girls win in dance competitions

THE Sandymount-Irishtown Girls’ Brigade has taken home two dance trophies in recent weeks.

The national finals of The Girls’ Brigade Ireland Modern Dance Competitions featured 19 teams taking part in two different age categories.

The Junior-Senior team, made up of girls aged 9-13, performed a stunning routine to the Glee song ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot/One Way Or Another’.

The older Brigader team, aged 14-17, made Meghan Trainor’s ‘Me Too’ their own with an energetic performance.

The girls had been rehearsing their dances and planning their costumes since early September and their hard work clearly paid off when it came to competition time.

The Company has 100 members and meet on Thursdays and Saturdays in Christchurch Hall in Sandymount.
