New festival of rugby to take place over bank holiday weekend

A NEW, annual rugby festival is coming to Dublin for the first time.

The Energia 7’s will take place over the June Bank Holiday weekend, from May 29 – 31 at Energia Park in Dublin.

Energia announced the launch of the festival that will see a men’s and women’s 7’s rugby tournament and a mixed social TAG rugby competition. 

 Located at Energia Park in Donnybrook, the rugby festival will be a fun weekend packed with rugby, music, a day village, player appearances, live entertainment, food and drink stalls, competitions, and much more. 

 Teams are invited to register for the competitions on the official festival website – energia7s.ie.

Registration is open to adult men’s and women’s 7’s teams, as well as social TAG rugby teams. Social tickets are also available for fans to take in the atmosphere and enjoy the festival fun across the weekend. 

 The weekend will kick off on the evening of Friday, May 29 from 6pm to 11pm with live music and entertainment.

The group stage of the rugby competitions will take place on Saturday, May 30 from 10am in Energia Park and Herbert Park with entertainment until late.

Sunday, May 31 will see the knockout stages, the finals and more entertainment, competitions and prizes.
