Detector dog Bailey helped Revenue officers seize and estimated 1.6kgs of herbal cannabis yesterday.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of €32,000, were discovered at the Dublin Mail Centre during a routine operation.

The cannabis was contained in a number of parcels that originated in the United States and had been declared as ‘children’s toys’, ‘candle set’, ‘teddy bear’, ‘beauty kit’, ‘tent’ and ‘sweaters/sweatpants’. All parcels were destined for an address in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.
