Award-winning animators to feature in Dublin film festival

SHAUN The Sheep creators are to screen their new feature length movie at an annual event for animation lovers.

The movie’s producer Paul Kewley and co-director, Richard Phelan, from Academy Award-winning studio Aardman Animations, are set to attend this year’s Dublin Animation Film Festival, which takes place in Dun Laoghaire from October 18 to 19.
These highly anticipated guests will showcase Aardman’s new feature length movie: ‘A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon’ to an audience of over 300 movie buffs and animation enthusiasts.
The festival, which is in its ninth year, has a reputation for attracting world-class movie talent to Ireland.
Last year, Fabian Erlinghäuser, Head of Animation for Cartoon Saloon showcased a screening of ‘The Breadwinner’.
As part of the Dublin Animation Festival 2019, the Shaun the Sheep stars will take centre stage for a unique and insightful Q and A session, where audience members will have a chance to learn the secrets of the trade from the best in the business.
The Director of the Dublin Animation Film Festival, Fionnghuala Ní Néill, said that having the Sean The Sheep’s creators involved in this year’s event was a coup.
“We’re all extremely excited to have two highly regarded names in animation attend the ninth anniversary of the Dublin Animation Film Festival,” she said.
“Alongside the screening one of this year’s biggest movie titles ‘A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon’, an immersive experience like a Q & A gives our festival attendees the chance to interact with some of the biggest names in the business.
