A 19-year-old from Knocklyon will be representing the Southside at this year’s prestigious Miss Ireland 2019 competition in the Helix this September.

Chloe O’Loughlin won the title of Miss Dublin South at last week’s final of Miss Dublin 2019.
She then took her place among the other Dublin girls representing the capital at the final.
Megan Hurley (19) from Sutton was declared Miss Dublin North, while Sophie Kelly (20) from Howth is the new Miss Dublin City.
Meanwhile, Bronwyn O Connell (25) from the Navan Road was awarded the Miss Dublin Central title.
All four girls impressed the judges at the recent event that was held in The Hilton Hotel Dublin Airport on Sunday, July 14.
All four winners will join the previously selected Miss Dublin West, Laura Doyle, to go forward to the Miss Ireland 2019 grand final which takes place in The Helix Theatre on Saturday, September 14.
Chloe, a full time Computer Science Student, is heading into her third year this September.
“I am a very hard working person, and I love to stay busy,” Chloe reveald. “Outside college, I am a model, a makeup artist, and I work part time in Hollister.
“I was so shocked when my name was announced as Miss Dublin South 2019.
“Although it’s always nice to be able to take home a crown, the main reason I like to take part in pageants is for all the new people I get to meet, and the new friendships I make.
“My name was the last to be called out, so I got a bit emotional when I was announced as Miss Dublin South,” she added. “My mother was also in hospital at the time of the semi-final, so she was unable to attend.
“However, after i was crowned I went straight into the hospital to surprise her in my ball gown, sash and crown!
She was both shocked and ecstatic, as we had left it as a surprise to tell her in person about the win.
“I’ve taken part in many pageants before,” Chloe added. “Last year I was a finalist in Miss Universe Ireland 2018. I was Miss Teen Dublin twice, in 2016 and 2017. I was also runner up for Miss Teen Galaxy Ireland 2017.
“As Miss Dublin South 2019, my aim is to raise awareness about many issues and charities which have impacted my life.”
