St MICHAEL’S House have received a donation of €62,000 from a fundraising event.

The money was raised from the ‘New To You’ Fashion Sale which took place last November.

Over the last seven years, the ‘New to You’ designer fashion sale has raised more than €200k in fundraising.

The initiative encourages communities to work together with people with intellectual disabilities to ensure they are fully involved and supported by their local community.

The money raised from the most recent event will aid the development of respite and specialised care projects that will benefit 18 service users from the St Michael’s House Baldoyle Day Service with profound intellectual disabilities.

The ‘New to You’ Fashion Sale was started in 2012 by a team of ladies from Sandymount.

The team was lead by Niamh Hanratty, inspired by their friends, the Nolan family whose daughter Ivana is a St Michael’s House service user.

Ivana’s sister Danielle also secured a match donation for the funds raised by the fashion sale this year which was generously donated by Google.

Meanwhile, the eighth annual ‘New to You’ Fashion Sale will take place on November 10 at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS).
