THE National Council for the Blind Ireland (NCBI) has celebrated the further expansion of their retail network with the official opening of its 100th store in Rathmines.

NCBI ambassador and Ireland and Leinster rugby player Robbie Henshaw, cut the red tape on the new shop recently.

NCBI is now the second largest charity shop chain in the country.

NCBI’s chain of shops play a vital and integral part in the charity’s overall fundraising efforts, allowing the national sight loss agency to provide vital life changing services to over 8,000 people each year.

Robbie said he was always happy to support the NCBI as its work empowers and transforms the lives of those living with sight loss.

“I’ve seen first-hand the difference that NCBI makes in supporting and enabling people to live independently and confidently,” Robbie said.

Chris White, NCBI CEO, added: “We are delighted to have a store in Rathmines given it is such a vibrant and bustling area.

“We hope the NCBI store will become a cornerstone of the community as it has in so many other communities across the country.”
