Dublin’s newest whiskey distillery has opened in the south city.

At a recent preview evening, guests enjoyed a walk-through of the Dublin Liberties Distillery and bar, where they were treated to whiskey cocktails, supper bowls and live music.
The exciting new addition to Ireland’s thriving whiskey scene was officially opened by Tánaiste Simon Coveney.
The Dublin Liberties Distillery is a unique visitor experience offering an up-close view of modern Irish whiskey making, from the working distillery through to the cocktail bar for the all-important tastings! Now open to the public, visitors can choose from a number of experiences on offer catering for different levels of interest, from whiskey enthusiasts to connoisseurs.
You can experience first-hand the sights and sounds of a real working distillery and taste a selection of the finest Dublin Liberties Distillery whiskeys as part of the tour. Whiskey aficionados will have the opportunity to take a more in-depth look at the whiskey making process on a tour with one of the distillers and taste some of the more exclusive expressions.
Visitors can also sample exclusive whiskies and relax in the café or browse in the Dublin Liberties Distillery store, which offers a range of branded merchandise and exclusive whiskies.
Production of the Dublin Liberties Distillery’s whiskey portfolio – which includes award-winning brands The Dubliner Irish Whiskey and The Dublin Liberties Irish Whiskey – will now commence at the distillery on Mill Street under the supervision of renowned Master Distiller, Darryl McNally.
The new distillery is located in the heart of the Liberties, the historic capital of Irish whiskey and an area with a colourful and fascinating history. The stories of the Liberties will be brought to life in the whiskies made by McNally and his team at the new distillery, which is expected to bring a further boost to Dublin’s already thriving tourism scene.
The popularity of the Irish whiskey category continues to soar worldwide.
Darryl McNally, Master Distiller at the Dublin Liberties Distillery, commented: “Making whiskey is my passion, my lifeblood, and to be doing it in the heart of Dublin’s historic distilling district is nothing short of a dream come true for me. I believe that the future for Irish whiskey is in innovation and pushing the boundaries and that’s what I’ll be working with the team here to deliver – the best Irish whiskey you could have the luck of getting on your lips.”
