Fresh funding for Fernhill Park and Gardens
Dublin People 21 Dec 2018
ONE of Dublin's newest parks is to benefit from a €400,000 boost in funding.

The money for Fernhill Park and Gardens, which were acquired in late 2014, is being made available through the Outdoor Recreational Infrastructure Scheme.
The former substantial family residence with ancillary buildings that are located on 34 hectares of land is just south of the Enniskerry Road at Stepaside.
Fernhill Park and Gardens form what is considered an impressive example of a small estate dating back to around 1723.
In 2017 plans for the development of Fernhill as a sustainable regional park were approved by councillors.
The new funding will develop a right of way including fencing, draining, surfacing and other works.
Cllr Deirdre Donnelly said: “Recreational tourism is a growing part of Ireland’s tourism offering. Over the last few years I have been calling for more walking trails across the county.
“This funding will ensure that this wonderful amenity will be accessible to walkers, joggers, young families and the various schools and clubs in the county. I am looking forward to its opening.”
