DALKEY teenager Julia George is preparing for a dream move to Hollywood after being scouted by a prestigious agency.

Julia (18) is set to make a lifechanging relocation to the movie capital of the world next May after being invited to join the Abrams Artists Agency’s commercial division.

Her journey to stardom began in 2016 when she read on Twitter that the Premier Programme were holding auditions in Dublin’s Four Seasons Hotel. Over 2,000 young people auditioned but Julia was one of the lucky few invited over to Orlando in December of that year.

She had to put her acting ambitions on hold to study for her Leaving Cert, which she completed this year at St Andrew’s in Booterstown. Once her exams were out of the way, Julia attended an acting showcase in Orlando, where she performed for major Disney Channel starts such as Peyton List, Raven Symone and Miranda May.

Having been spotted by the Abramns agency, she was then invited to meet with them in Hollywood last month where she was offered an opportunity to join the team.

Julia told Southside People that she is now planning a permanent move to Hollywood to pursue her dreams.

“I am so excited about the move and feel that LA is where I belong,” she said. “My mother will be coming over with me for a while to help get me settled in. My family are delighted for me and have been really supportive.”

In the meantime, Julia is working part-time to save money for the big trip and is also taking acting lessons. And while appearing on TV and in films is her priority at the moment, she would like to see herself involved in the movie production end of the business at some stage in the future.

A major Steven Spielberg fan, Julia grew up mainly watching action films due to the influence of her father and older brother. She also cites movie classics ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ as two of her favourite movies.

We look forward to hearing of Julia’s progress when she hits Hollywood next year.
