Luas services hit by Storm Ali

Dublin People 19 Sep 2018
Storm damage brought some Luas services to a halt today.

There have been disruptions to Luas Green Line services today due to Storm Ali.

The service is operating Brides Glen to Balally and Dominick to Broombridge. There are currently no trams running between Balally and Dominick.

During the height of the storm, a tree made contact with the Luas overhead power line, which wrapped around the tram pantograph – this is the link on the roof of a tram which connects the power from the overhead to the tram. The incident happened close the Charlemont stop and maintenance crew are now on site.

There were up to 10 trams on the line when the stoppage occurred. Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus.
