AROUND 200 guests attended a fundraising day at Leisureplex Stillorgan recently in memory of a local woman.

Lucy Dolan, who passed away from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome in 2017 at the age of just 49, was well-liked by everyone who had the pleasure of working with her.

The day, open to Lucy’s work colleagues, friends and the general public, was well supported by suppliers and contractors who worked with Lucy over the years.

The family fun event was set up with the aim of raising funds for The Down Syndrome Centre, a charity very close to Lucy’s heart, and family screening for Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

The party atmosphere was evident with upbeat music, party lighting and food and drink for all as the guests enjoyed games of bowling, Quasar, pool and even a trip into the Zoo Adventureland play area for the little ones.

The day concluded with a huge raffle, with over 30 amazing prizes given out. Members of Lucy’s family, in attendance throughout the day, were on hand to help pick out the prize winners.

In addition to the fundraising event, a GoFundMe page was set up to help raise as much funds as possible for the two causes.

The generosity of those who knew and worked with Lucy was shown in abundance, with over €11,000 currently raised on the GoFundMe page alone.

Overall, with funds raised through entry tickets to the event, raffle tickets and the GoFundMe page, the total raised for the charities has currently surpassed the €20,000 mark.
