Tall tails at Marlay’s big Bark in the Park
Dublin People 22 Jun 2018
THERE was sun and fun at Marlay Park in Rathfarnham recently as Irish Blue Cross supporters enjoyed taking part in the charity’s annual sponsored dog walk, Bark in the Park.

Dog owners and families from all over Dublin joined the charity for the fun-filled day with music, games, dog competitions and family friendly puppy classes and agility demonstrations hosted by Positive Dog Training.
The charity also hosted a raffle with a variety of prizes. John Lahart, TD Dublin South West, came along to support the day, acting as guest judge to find the dogs with the Happiest Smile, Waggiest Tail, Shiniest Coat, Best Bark and Best Overall Dog.
“We were delighted with the turnout today for our second Bark in the Park this year,” said charity Marketing & Events Manager, Alison Kelly.
“And we’re looking forward to our last three events in Ardgillan Castle, Phoenix Park and Tymon Park North.
“Our Barks are fun days out for all the family and we were thrilled to see so many doggy daddies celebrating Father’s Day by helping us to raise money to continue supporting our work.”
The Irish Blue Cross is a registered animal welfare charity that provides low cost veterinary care to pet owners in receipt of means tested Government benefits.
Money raised by the charity through fundraising initiatives and events funds the running costs associated with the service provided.
The charity receives some Government funding, but fundraising is vital to sustain the organisation and to enable the Irish Blue Cross to continue to provide this vital service and support in the community.
