Hundreds gather for rugby blitz
Dublin People 07 May 2018
OVER 1,500 young rugby players from more than 31 clubs and 100 teams took part in the annual Seapoint RC Blitz in Kilbogget Park, Cabinteely.

The largest event of its kind in Ireland that has been running for over 22 years, attracted teams from all over the country for a day of rucking, passing and tackling.
Boys and girls from U10s, U11s, and U12s played a series of matches against teams from all four provinces while Leinster Senior Squad players, second row James Ryan and centre, Rory O’Loughlin, came along to lend their support.
Commenting on the day Seapoint RC President, Gerry Owens said: “We are thrilled to welcome these young rugby players to Seapoint RC and to once again host this fantastic event which is always a very special occasion in the calendar of our club.”
An organising committee of over 120 volunteers scheduled the matches, co-ordinated on the day and arranged an array of family fun activities in the grounds, that included a live DJ, BBQ and face-painting.
Headline sponsors Kingspan, KBC Bank, DLRCC, Rushes Supervalu and the Leinster branch of the IRFU all contributed to make the 2018 Seapoint Blitz another memorable event.
Seapoint Rugby Club are always seeking new players, whether you are starting off or coming back.
